Cheryl Ann Oteri (born September 19, 1962) is an American actress and comedian. She is famous for being a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL) from 1995 to 2000. Her work on the show earned her a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award.

Early Life and Career Start
Cheri Oteri was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, and has Italian roots. When she was 25, she moved to Los Angeles and worked at a record company. Later, she joined The Groundlings, a famous comedy group where comedians practice and perform sketch comedy.
Breakthrough on Saturday Night Live
In 1995, producers from Saturday Night Live came to see a show at The Groundlings. They were there to watch another comedian, Chris Kattan. During the show, Oteri performed a short act while Kattan was changing costumes. The producers were so impressed that they invited her to audition for SNL too.
She was hired along with Kattan and another Groundlings member, Will Ferrell. They joined in September 1995 as part of a brand-new cast.
