History of Chernihiv
Chernihiv is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine. It was founded in the year 907. This means the city has been around for over 1,100 years! Over time, it grew into an important center.
City Government
The city of Chernihiv is led by a Mayor. The Mayor helps make decisions for the city. As of 2015, the Mayor was Vladyslav Atroshenko. He was part of a political group called "Petro Poroshenko Bloc 'Solidarity'".
