Playing Career
Cho Jae-jin became well-known when he played for the South Korean under-23 team at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He scored two goals in a game against Mali, which helped his team reach the quarter-finals.
He played very well for Shimizu S-Pulse in Japan from 2004 to 2007. During this time, he scored 45 goals in 101 games. Cho was also chosen to play for the South Korean national team in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He played in three World Cup matches, showing his strength as a forward.
After his time at Shimizu, Cho wanted to play for a club in the English Premier League. He received offers from several famous clubs like Newcastle United and Fulham. However, he ended up signing with K League club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in South Korea.
Cho had a health issue with his hip that caused him pain. This pain started when he was 22 years old. Because of this, he decided to stop playing football and announced his retirement on March 18, 2011.
Personal Life
Cho is good friends with Kim Dong-jin, who was also on the South Korean Olympic team.
Cho has also appeared in advertisements for brands like Adidas and Cosmopolitan magazine in South Korea.
