Cho Jae-jin (born on July 9, 1981) is a former professional South Korean football player. He was known for playing as a striker, scoring many goals for his teams.

Cho Jae-jin's Football Journey
Cho Jae-jin became a well-known player during the 2004 Summer Olympics. He played for the South Korean under-23 team. In one exciting match against Mali, he scored two goals. This helped his team get to the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Playing for Shimizu S-Pulse
From 2004 to 2007, Cho played for a Japanese club called Shimizu S-Pulse. He was a very strong player for them. During his time there, he scored 45 goals in 101 games in the J1 League. This showed how good he was at scoring goals.
World Cup Experience
Cho was also chosen to play for the South Korean national team in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He played in three World Cup matches. Experts noticed his powerful playing style. One expert from The Guardian newspaper even picked him as one of the top six talented players outside of England's Premier League after the World Cup.
Moving to the K League
After his successful time in Japan, Cho wanted to play for a club in the English Premier League. Big clubs like Newcastle United and Fulham were interested in him. However, he ended up signing with K League club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in South Korea.
Retirement from Football
Sadly, Cho had a health condition called hip dysplasia from birth. This caused him pain when he was 22 years old. He used special treatments to keep playing football. But in the end, the pain became too much. He announced his retirement from football on March 18, 2011.

Cho Jae-jin has a close friend named Kim Dong-jin. Kim was also a member of the South Korean Olympic football team.
Cho has also appeared in advertisements. He worked with brands like Adidas, Cosmopolitan magazine, and a clothing brand called "ASK" in South Korea.
