Chris Chase (born Irene Greengard; January 12, 1924 – October 31, 2013) was an American model, actress, writer, and journalist. She was also known by her stage name, Irene Kane. Her most famous acting role was in the movie Killer's Kiss. Later in her career, she wrote helpful advice books. She also helped write the life stories of many famous people. Chris Chase was the sister of Nobel Prize winner Paul Greengard, a neuroscientist.

Early Life and Career Journey
Irene Greengard was born in New York City in 1924. Her parents were Pearl and Benjamin Greengard. When she was younger, she worked as a model for Vogue magazine.
In the mid-1950s, a photographer named Bert Stern introduced her to film director Stanley Kubrick. Kubrick was looking for the main actress for his movie Killer's Kiss. Irene took the professional name Irene Kane for this role. She then appeared in other movies and also in plays on Broadway theatre.
Later, Irene started using the name Chris Chase. She became a journalist and worked at The New York Times. She wrote books that gave advice, like how to lose weight or how to get into acting.
Chris Chase also worked in television news. She joined CNN in 1980 and stayed there until 1986. In 1985, she became the first host of a show called Media Watch. She helped famous people write their autobiographies, which are books about their own lives. These included books by Rosalind Russell, Betty Ford, and Alan King. She also helped write a book about Josephine Baker with Baker's adopted son, Jean-Claude.
Personal Life and Family
On June 3, 1961, Irene Kane married Michael Chase. He was a producer for educational television shows. Michael was also the son of a famous playwright named Mary Chase. After getting married, Irene started using her husband's last name, Chase, for her work and legally. In March 1975, Chris and her husband were in a serious car accident near Poughkeepsie, New York.
Later Years and Passing
Chris Chase passed away on October 31, 2013. She was 89 years old. She died from pancreatic cancer at her home in New York City.
