High School Football
Hubbard played football at George Washington Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia. During his junior and senior years, he was the starting left tackle. His team was very successful, winning 26 games and losing only 3. In 2007, his team won the Georgia state championship.
He was a powerful blocker and was known for his pancake blocks, which is when an offensive lineman blocks a defender so well that they fall flat on their back. He made 77 pancake blocks in his senior year alone. His great performance earned him a spot on the All-State first-team.
College Career
From 2009 to 2012, Hubbard played for the UAB Blazers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. As a freshman in 2009, he was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team. In his senior year in 2012, he was chosen as one of the best players in the conference.
Professional NFL Career
Before the NFL draft, college players show their skills to scouts at events like a "Pro Day." This helps teams decide who they want to pick. Here are Hubbard's results from his Pro Day:

Pittsburgh Steelers (2013–2017)
Hubbard was not chosen in the 2013 NFL draft, but the Pittsburgh Steelers signed him as an undrafted free agent on April 27, 2013. He was briefly released but then signed to the team's practice squad. A practice squad allows players to practice with a team without being on the main roster.
He made his official NFL debut on September 21, 2014, in a game against the Carolina Panthers.
In 2016, Hubbard got his first chance to start in a game. On October 9, he played against the New York Jets because the usual right tackle, Marcus Gilbert, was injured. Hubbard played well, and the Steelers won the game 31–13. His coaches and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger praised his performance.
During the 2017 season, he continued to be a reliable backup player, starting in several games when other players were injured.
Cleveland Browns (2018–2022)
On March 15, 2018, Hubbard signed a big five-year contract with the Cleveland Browns. He became the team's starting right tackle and started in all 16 games that season.
In 2020, the Browns signed a new right tackle, Jack Conklin, and drafted another offensive lineman, Jedrick Wills. Because of this, Hubbard became a backup player. He agreed to change his contract so he could stay with the team. Later that season, he suffered a knee injury and was placed on the injured reserve list, ending his season early. He was also placed on injured reserve in October 2021 due to another injury.
Hubbard re-signed with the Browns for one more year in 2022.
Tennessee Titans (2023)
On July 28, 2023, Hubbard joined the Tennessee Titans. He earned the starting right tackle position and started in nine games. Unfortunately, his season was cut short by a biceps injury in November.
Recent Team Changes
On May 14, 2024, Hubbard signed with the San Francisco 49ers. He was released in August but then signed to the 49ers' practice squad in September.
On October 18, 2024, the New York Giants signed Hubbard from the 49ers' practice squad to their main team.
