Christopher Hubbard (born April 23, 1991) is an American professional football player. He plays as an offensive tackle for the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

Early Life and High School Football

Chris Hubbard grew up in Columbus, Georgia. He played high school football at George Washington Carver High School. He was a starting player, playing as a left tackle during his junior and senior years.

During his time on the team, they had an amazing record of 26 wins and only 3 losses. In 2007, his team even won the Georgia High School Association Class AAA state championship! Chris was recognized for his skills and was named to the All-State team. He was also known for making 77 "pancake blocks" in his senior year. A pancake block is when an offensive lineman blocks a defender so well that the defender falls flat on their back, like a pancake!

College Football Career

After high school, Chris Hubbard played college football for the UAB Blazers. He was part of the team from 2009 to 2012.

In his first year, 2009, he was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team. This means he was one of the best new players in the conference. By his senior year in 2012, he was chosen as an All-Conference USA player, showing he was one of the top players in the entire conference.

Playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers

On April 27, 2013, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Chris Hubbard as an undrafted free agent. This means they signed him even though he wasn't picked in the draft. He was first on their practice squad, which is a group of players who train with the team but aren't on the main roster.

Chris made his first NFL appearance on September 21, 2014. In 2016, he got his first chance to start a game against the New York Jets. He played really well, and his coaches and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger praised his performance. He continued to get more playing time and starts, especially when other players were injured.

Time with the Cleveland Browns

On March 15, 2018, Chris Hubbard signed a big contract with the Cleveland Browns. He became their starting right tackle and played in all 16 games that season.

In 2019, he continued as a starter. Later, the Browns brought in new players for the offensive line, so Chris took on a backup role. He agreed to change his contract to stay with the team. In 2020 and 2021, he dealt with injuries that kept him off the field for some time. He re-signed with the Browns for another year in 2022.

Moving to the Tennessee Titans

On July 28, 2023, Chris Hubbard joined the Tennessee Titans. He became their starting right tackle and played in nine games. Unfortunately, he got a biceps injury in November 2023, which ended his season.

Short Stays with the 49ers and Giants

In May 2024, Chris signed with the San Francisco 49ers. He was later released but then signed to their practice squad in September.

However, his time with the 49ers was short. On October 18, 2024, the New York Giants signed him from the 49ers' practice squad, bringing him to his current team.
