Christina Aguilar (Thai: คริสติน่า อากีล่าร์) was born on October 31, 1966. She is a very famous Thai singer. Many people call her the Thai Queen of Dance because of her amazing dance music. Her very first album, Ninja, sold over 1 million copies! This was a huge achievement, as she was the first Thai female singer to do this. She is also the only Thai artist to have her first four albums each sell more than 1 million copies. Her third album, Red Beat Rahutraun, sold an incredible 3 million copies. This makes it the best-selling album ever by a female artist in Thailand. Overall, her eight solo albums have sold more than 10.5 million copies! She even won an award at a big international event, the MTV Video Music Awards, in 1992.

Early Life and Background
Christina Aguilar was born in Bangkok, Thailand. Her dad, Tony Aguilar, was a musician from the Philippines. Her mom, Margaret, was from France and Vietnam. Christina has two siblings, Anthony and Theresa. Her dad really inspired her music, and her family loved singing together.
Christina studied business management in France. Even though she doesn't have Thai family roots, she speaks fluent Thai. This sometimes makes people think she is Thai. Besides Thai, Christina also speaks French, English, and some Spanish. She first became known for her singing when she was in France. At a college party, her friends asked her to sing on stage, and she performed a song called "Sweet Memory."
Starting Her Music Career
After finishing college, Christina worked for an advertising company in France. Then, she returned to Thailand and worked briefly at a travel agency. Her life changed when she met Rewat Bhuddhinan. He was a top music producer for GMM Grammy. He convinced her to join the music world.
Early Success with Ninja and Arwut Lab
Christina Aguilar first appeared on the radio in 1990. Her first song, "Ninja," became a big hit in Thailand. It was from her first album, also called Ninja. After that, she released other popular dance songs like "Plik Lock" and "Prawatsart." She also sang beautiful ballads such as "Hua Jai Kor Ma" and "Plao Rok Na." Christina made history by being the first female artist in Thailand to sell over a million copies of an album.
Her second album, Arwut Lab, came out in 1992. The music video for its main song, "Jing Mai Klua," won the first Asian Viewers Choice Award at the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards. In another video from the album, "Wela Mai Chuai Arai," Christina acted alongside Chinese-American actor Michael Wong. This album also sold over a million copies, just like her first one.
Red Beat Rahutraun and More Hits

In 1994, Christina released her third album, Red Beat Rahutraun. Two popular songs from this album were the dance track "Mai Yag Rok" and the love song "Rak Thur Thee Sood." This was the third time one of Christina's albums sold more than one million copies. This album eventually sold an amazing three million copies. It is the only album by a female artist in Thailand to reach this number. It also became the third best-selling album ever in Thai music history. Only two albums by Thongchai McIntyre sold more.
A year later, Christina joined Thailand's most successful singer, Thongchai McIntyre, on his album Khon Nok Gub Dok Mai (Feather and Flowers). She sang with Thongchai on the song "Rak Thur Samur." In the same year, she was part of another album called 6-2-12. She sang with five other popular Thai artists: Jetrin Wattanasin, Patipan Pataweekarn, Tata Young, UHT, and Myria Benedetti. Both of these special albums sold over a million copies.
Her album Golden Eye was released three years later. Christina showed a more mature style with this album. She even helped write a song called "Tai Pa Hom Oun." The album had many hits like "Ya Mong Trong Nan," "Fak Kwam Yin Dee," "Mai Tong Khob Jai," "Tai Pa Hom Oun," and "Pood Eek Thee." Golden Eye also included Thai-French lyrics in the song "Bai Mai," which Christina wrote herself. This album was still very popular and sold a million copies, just like her earlier albums.
Later Albums and International Steps
In 1999, Christina showed a younger and more colorful style with her fifth album, 5th Avenue. The hit song from this album was "Oon Jai." It sold almost a million copies.
In the same year, Christina released her first English-language album. This album featured Sarah Jane Fearnley, an English singer who sang backup for the Spice Girls. The album had English versions of Christina's songs. However, it was not as successful outside of Thailand as her earlier albums.
Her sixth album, Dancing Queen, came out in 2001. For the first time, Christina released a slow song as the main single instead of a fast dance song. The song "Kid Pid Kid Mai" still topped many radio charts. Because of a lot of music piracy at that time, this album sold about 670,000 copies. This made it her smallest-selling album since she started her career.
Paradise and C.Space
In 2003, Christina released her seventh album, Paradise. This album had a Latin sound. It had three popular songs: "Sawan Yoo Thee Jai," "Hong Derm," and "Yak Fung Kum Nun Talod Pai." Paradise was well-received and sold over 760,000 copies. Four years later, Christina released her eighth album, C.Space. It included songs like "Koh Khoom Laew," "An Everlasting Love," and "Wang Meed Dai Rue Yung." This was a time when music was changing, and cassette tapes were no longer being released.
Concerts and Recent Work
Christina Aguilar has not released any new studio albums since C.Space. She has mostly focused on performing live and holding concerts. In 2008, she started a project called Mai – Tina: Beauty on the Beat with Mai Charoenpura. They released a new song called "Burn" and held a concert in 2009. In 2010, Christina performed with many artists, including Tata Young and Michael Jackson, in a special concert called "This Is It, the Concert." This concert was a tribute to Michael Jackson after he passed away in 2009.
Christina celebrated her 20th year in music on December 21, 2010. She held special concerts in June 2011 and released a celebration song called "Sut...Sut." She has also performed in many concerts that bring back her old projects, like "6.2.13." She often takes part in special events and music festivals.
In 2016, Christina performed in the "Christina Kingdom Concert" to celebrate her 25th anniversary. She also performed at the "Million Albums Concert" with other famous artists like Tata Young and Nicole Theriault. In 2018, Christina made an official comeback with a new song called "Ter" after seven years.
In 2023, Christina performed in the "Christina Q Concert." This was her biggest solo concert in 33 years since she started her career. In 2024, Christina reunited with Bird Thongchai for a special music project called "Khon Nok Kab Dok Mai: Dream For Love." She sang two songs, "Rak Ter Tao Rai" and "Lao Soo Kan Fang," with Bird Thongchai and other artists. These were her first new songs in six years and her first time working with Bird Thongchai in many decades.
