He shares these performances live and in music videos on his YouTube channel, ClassicalTrombone. He started this channel in 2011.
Christopher Bill plays many types of music. These include classical, jazz, pop, and rock. Besides his own music, he covers songs by other artists. He also plays music from different soundtracks.
He has worked as a music director for TV shows like Stargirl and Stranger Things. In 2014, his cover of Pharrell Williams' song "Happy" became very popular online. By January 2023, his ClassicalTrombone YouTube channel had over 280,000 subscribers. It also had more than 64 million total views.

Growing Up: Christopher Bill's Early Life
Christopher Bill was born in Binghamton, New York. He was the youngest of four children. When he was six years old, he started taking piano lessons. At age ten, he decided to play the trombone. By the time he was twelve, he began writing and arranging music.
He lived in Endicott, New York. He went to Union-Endicott High School. There, he was very active in the school's music program. He was even the drum major for the marching band. During these years, he also played in the Binghamton Youth Symphony Orchestra. He was also a member of the Bayonne Bridgemen Alumni and the Syracuse Brigadiers.

Christopher Bill studied music at the Conservatory of Music at the State University of New York at Purchase. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree there.

While studying at SUNY Purchase, Christopher Bill started arranging popular songs. He would arrange them for trombone quartets. This means he would play all four parts himself. Then, he would upload these videos to YouTube.
His first popular video was Owl City's "Fireflies". He uploaded it in August 2012. In December 2012, he posted a new Christmas song arrangement every day. He called this "The 25 Days of Christmas."
Starting in July 2013, he began posting a new video every Saturday. In February 2014, his video of Pharrell Williams' "Happy" became a huge hit. By December 2015, that video had over 2.8 million views!
Christopher Bill has released three albums where he plays all the parts himself. His first album, Breakthrough, came out in spring 2014. It has covers of pop and rock songs. In winter 2014, he released Smiling's My Favorite, an album of Christmas songs. His most recent album, Half Man, Half Machine, was released in 2017.
Live Performances: Playing for Audiences
After graduating from college, Christopher Bill began performing his arrangements live. He has played for audiences at many events. These include the Conn-Selmer Institute and the International Trombone Association Festival. He also performed at the Midwest Clinic, Texas Bandmasters Association, and the American Trombone Workshop. He has played at the Con Brio Music Festival and Condé Nast Digital Day in Moscow.
Community: Helping Other Musicians
Christopher Bill has been very involved with the International Trombone Association. He has helped with their yearly festival. In 2019, he was the director of their youth workshop.
