Christopher Daniel Barnes is an American actor and writer. He is well-known for lending his voice to popular characters. You might recognize him as the voice of Peter Parker / Spider-Man in the 1990s animated series Spider-Man: The Animated Series. He also voiced Prince Eric in Disney's classic movie The Little Mermaid. On screen, he played Greg Brady in The Brady Bunch Movie and A Very Brady Sequel.

Christopher Daniel Barnes was born on November 7, 1972, in Portland, Maine. He is the youngest of three children.

Early Life and Beginnings

Barnes started his career very young as a child model. He began acting in 1981 when he was just 8 years old. One of his early big roles was playing Scott, the 14-year-old son of the main character, in the science fiction TV series Starman from 1986 to 1987. He also starred as Ross Harper in the NBC sitcom Day by Day from 1988 to 1989.

Christopher Daniel Barnes is famous for playing Greg Brady in the movies The Brady Bunch Movie (1995) and A Very Brady Sequel (1996). Before that, he even played a "fourth Brady son" in a dream sequence on Day by Day. From 1998 to 2000, he played Leonard on the sitcom Malcolm & Eddie. He also made guest appearances in many other popular TV shows like Beverly Hills, 90210, Clueless, Wings, Blossom, and The Golden Girls.

Disney Adventures

When he was 16 in 1989, Barnes became the voice of Prince Eric in Disney's animated film The Little Mermaid. He returned to voice Prince Eric again in 2005 for the video game Kingdom Hearts II. More recently, he reprised the role for the game Disney Dreamlight Valley in 2022 and Disney Speedstorm in 2024. He also voiced Prince Charming in the Cinderella sequels, Cinderella II: Dreams Come True and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time.

The Voice of Spider-Man

One of Barnes's most recognized voice roles is Peter Parker / Spider-Man in the 1994–1998 Spider-Man: The Animated Series. He voiced not only Spider-Man but also other versions like Scarlet Spider and Spider-Carnage in the series. He continued to voice different Spider-Man characters in video games. For example, he was Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (2010) and Spider-Man 2099 in Spider-Man: Edge of Time (2011). He also voiced characters like Electro, Spyder-Knight, and Wolf Spider in the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series (2013–2016). In 2019, he voiced Electro again in the video game Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.

Other Voice Work and Writing

Beyond his famous roles, Barnes has lent his voice to many other animated series. He voiced several characters in Captain Planet and the Planeteers, Tagert McStone in Jackie Chan Adventures, and Speckles in Speckles: The Tarbosaurus. He also did voice acting for video games, including Scott Donovan in the Law & Order games Law & Order: Dead on the Money and Law & Order: Double or Nothing.
