Cialitos is a special area, known as a barrio, located in the municipality of Ciales, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 1,449 people lived there. It is part of the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, which is a commonwealth of the United States.
History of Cialitos
Puerto Rico was once controlled by Spain. After the Spanish–American War in 1898, Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States. This change happened because of a peace agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898. Puerto Rico then became an unincorporated territory of the United States. This means it is governed by the U.S. but is not a state.
In 1899, the United States Department of War conducted a census in Puerto Rico. A census is like a big count of all the people living in an area. This first count showed that 2,522 people lived in Cialitos barrio. The population has changed over the years, as you can see in the table below.
