Starting His Football Journey
Cicinho was born in Pradópolis, a town in the São Paulo state of Brazil. He started his football career at Botafogo-SP. Later, he joined Atlético Mineiro, and also played on loan for Botafogo in Rio de Janeiro.
His big moment came in 2005 when he played for São Paulo. He helped the team win the Club World Cup, a major international tournament.
Playing for Real Madrid
On August 23, 2005, Cicinho signed with the famous Spanish club Real Madrid. He joined the team in the new year, playing alongside other Brazilian stars like Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos.
He made his first appearance in La Liga, Spain's top league, on January 8, 2006. He scored his first goal for Real Madrid three weeks later in a match against Celta de Vigo. In February, he scored a quick goal in a Copa del Rey semi-final game.
In September 2006, Cicinho had a serious knee injury. He worked hard to recover and returned to play in April 2007. He helped his team win a game against Athletic Bilbao by setting up two goals. Before the 2007–08 season, he decided to move to another club to get more playing time.
Time with Roma
On August 22, 2007, Cicinho joined Roma, a big club in Italy. He signed a five-year contract with them. He made his first official appearance for Roma in a Serie A match against Palermo, helping his team win 2–0.
During his time at Roma, he also had loan spells back at São Paulo in 2010 and with Villarreal in Spain in 2011. He returned to Roma for the 2011–12 season but played fewer matches. His contract with Roma ended in June 2012, and he went back to Brazil.
Later Years in Football
