Band History
Cinematic Sunrise started in 2006. Craig Owens and Bradley Bell were also part of another band called Chiodos at the time. However, Cinematic Sunrise sounded very different from Chiodos. Chiodos played post-hardcore music. Cinematic Sunrise played more pop rock and pop punk songs. Their music was lighter and more upbeat.
The band's first and only EP was released on May 13, 2008. It was titled A Coloring Storybook and Long Playing Record. Bryan Beeler helped record and produce the EP. The EP did well on the music charts. It reached #196 on the main Billboard charts. It also hit #8 on the Top Heatseekers chart. Plus, it got to #26 on the Top Independent Albums chart.
The band sold more than 10,000 copies of the EP. Because it was so popular, they ran out of the original copies. So, the EP was released again in late October 2008. This new version included two extra songs for fans.

A Coloring Storybook and Long-Playing Record was the only EP released by Cinematic Sunrise. This project was a fun side project for Bradley Bell and Craig Owens from the band Chiodos. Their goal was to make music that was fun and innocent.
The first release of the record came with four colored pencils. These pencils were meant to be used with a special coloring book. The book had drawings of animals. Hidden within the coloring pages were pictures of the band members. Craig Owens had hoped the EP would come with crayons instead of colored pencils.
On October 14, 2008, Equal Vision Records released the EP again. This re-release included two new bonus songs. These songs were called "If Lilly Isn't Back by Sunset" and "Crossing Our Fingers for Summer."
