Craig Owens' Music Journey

Starting with Chiodos

In 2001, Craig Owens and his friends formed a band in Davison, Michigan. They called themselves "Chiodos Bros." to honor the Chiodo Brothers, who were special effects artists. In 2004, the band signed with Equal Vision Records. They changed their name to Chiodos and released their first album, All's Well That Ends Well, in 2005. They continued to make music and tour for many years.

Craig left Chiodos for a while but later returned in 2012. The band played their first reunion show in Flint Local 432 in Michigan. They also started planning a new album. However, in 2016, Craig announced that Chiodos was no longer making music. He explained that it was hard for the band to keep going full-time. He said that making music together was no longer a passion for most of them.

Other Cool Bands and Projects

The Sound of Animals Fighting

Craig was also a singer in a "supergroup" called the Sound of Animals Fighting. A supergroup is a band made up of members from other famous bands. Craig sang on their 2006 album, Lover, the Lord Has Left Us... In this group, each member wore an animal mask. Craig's character was the Ram.

Cinematic Sunrise

While working with Chiodos, Craig and his bandmate Bradley Bell started a side project. They called it Cinematic Sunrise. This project was a way for them to play music that did not quite fit Chiodos' style. In 2008, Cinematic Sunrise released a short album called A Coloring Storybook and Long Playing Record.

Isles & Glaciers

In 2008, Craig shared that he was working on another supergroup. This group included members from bands like Emarosa, Pierce the Veil, and Cinematic Sunrise. They called themselves Isles & Glaciers. Their album, The Hearts of Lonely People, came out in 2010. Craig mentioned that the group sometimes talked about making more music together.

Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows (D.R.U.G.S.)

In 2009, Craig released a solo album called "Με την αγάπη (With Love)". Soon after, Chiodos announced that Craig was no longer their singer. Craig then took some time to write new songs. In 2010, he announced a new supergroup called D.R.U.G.S. (Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows). Their first album, D.R.U.G.S., was released in 2011. It did very well on music charts.
