Chiodos (say it: chee-OH-dohz) was an American rock band. They were from Davison, Michigan. The band started in 2001.
They were first called "The Light-hearted Carpet Knights." Then they changed their name to "The Chiodos Bros." This name honored the Chiodo Brothers, who made the movie Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
Chiodos released their first full album, All's Well That Ends Well, in 2005. Their second album, Bone Palace Ballet, came out in 2007. It was very popular, reaching number 5 on the Billboard 200 list. It also hit number 1 on the Independent Albums chart.
Their third album, Illuminaudio, was released in 2010. This album featured Brandon Bolmer as the lead singer. The band's fourth and last album, Devil, came out in 2014. For this album, the original singer Craig Owens returned. The band stopped making music in 2016.

Band History
Starting Out and First Album (2001–2005)
The first members of Chiodos met in high school in Davison, Michigan. This was in 2001. They started by playing shows at the Flint Local 432. This was a music place in Flint for all ages. Other famous bands also started there.
The band first called themselves "The Chiodos Brothers." They released three short music collections called EPs. Then, in 2004, they began working on their first album. This album was called All's Well That Ends Well. It came out on July 26, 2005. The album did well, reaching #3 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. It also got to #164 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Bone Palace Ballet and a Big Change (2006–2009)
Chiodos played their own shows and then joined bigger tours. In 2006, they toured with bands like Armor for Sleep and Matchbook Romance. They also played at the Warped Tour that summer. Later in 2006, they toured with Atreyu, From First to Last, and Every Time I Die.
In 2008, Chiodos toured with famous bands like Linkin Park and Coheed and Cambria. They also played in Australia with Nine Inch Nails and Alice in Chains in 2009. They returned to the main stage of Warped Tour 2009. There, they played with bands such as The Devil Wears Prada and Bad Religion.
In March 2009, the band recorded a cover song. It was "Flagpole Sitta" by Harvey Danger. This song was for the album Punk Goes Pop Volume Two.
On September 24, 2009, the band announced a big change. They said they had decided to part ways with their lead singer, Craig Owens.
To all of our friends, family, and fans: We would like to let you know that we have let Craig Owens go as the singer of Chiodos. This decision was a necessary one. Out of respect for all of the hard work that we have put in together for all of these years we will not be discussing the specific reasons that this needed to happen. We wish Craig well. We will absolutely be continuing on as a band and we will keep you informed as this next chapter unfolds. Chiodos fans are the best fans in the world and all we can ask of you, after everything you already given us, is to share in our excitement for this next album. We promise you will not be disappointed............Brad, Jason, Pat, and Matt
People close to the band knew there were disagreements. But many were still surprised by this news. They wondered how Chiodos would continue without Craig Owens.
New Singer and Illuminaudio (2010–2012)
On February 1, 2010, the band said they would record their third album. They would work with a famous producer named Machine. The band members going into the studio were Jason Hale (guitar), Pat McManaman (guitar), Matt Goddard (bass), and a new drummer, Tanner Wayne.
The band wanted to keep their new singer a secret. But on February 2, 2010, Alternative Press magazine reported the news. Former Yesterdays Rising singer Brandon Bolmer was the new vocalist. Bolmer later confirmed he was the new Chiodos singer.
In May, Alternative Press reported more details. The band and their old drummer, Derrick Frost, had parted ways. This was because he and Craig Owens did not get along. The band chose to let Frost go over Owens. But only months later, they let Owens go too. They also said they thought about bringing Frost back.
On August 3, 2010, Alternative Press announced the new album's name. It would be Illuminaudio. It was released on October 5. In 2011, Chiodos toured with Skindred. They also played four shows in America with other bands. Then they joined the "Scream It Like You Mean It" tour. This was a big tour with 39 dates across America.
More Changes (2012–2013)
On March 27, 2012, Chiodos announced more changes. Singer Brandon Bolmer and drummer Tanner Wayne decided to leave the band.
On April 26, 2012, Chiodos shared exciting news. A video showed that Craig Owens would be back as the singer! This was the first time in two and a half years. On May 14, 2012, another video confirmed Derrick Frost was also returning as drummer.
On November 8, 2012, Craig Owens and Bradley Bell said they were writing a new Chiodos album. On November 23, 2012, Jason Hale announced he was no longer in the band. Thomas Erak from The Fall of Troy took his place for the rest of the tour. He then became a permanent member. The band toured the UK in February 2013. They also played at Warped Tour 2013.
New Record Label, Devil, and End of the Band (2013–2016)
On May 15, 2013, the record company Razor & Tie announced they had signed Chiodos. This meant they would release the band's new music.
On June 21, 2013, while at Warped Tour, the band said they would record their fourth album. This would happen after their tour ended.
On September 11, 2013, the band went to Dreamland Studio in Woodstock, NY. They worked with producer David Bottrill. Craig Owens said they were excited to work with Dave. He added they would be "hiding out in the woods of upstate NY, in a hollowed out Church turned studio."
On September 25, 2013, Alternative Press interviewed Bradley Bell. He talked about what to expect on the new album. Bradley said the album would be like their older music. He also said Craig Owens was trying new ways of singing. He was using his higher voice more and singing lower notes too.
The band played a new song called "Behvis Bullock" on their European tour. The new album was named Devil. It was released on April 1, 2014. The first song from the album, "Ole Fishlips Is Dead Now," came out the same day. The band toured with A Day to Remember and The Blackout.
On September 3, Derrick Frost and Matt Goddard left the band. They were quickly replaced by Thomas Pridgen on drums and Joseph Troy on bass. On December 9, 2014, Thomas Erak announced he was leaving. He wanted to focus on his band The Fall Of Troy.
On November 1, 2016, Craig Owens told Billboard magazine that Chiodos was done. He said, "It's done, it just couldn't stay afloat." He explained that it stopped being a passion for most of them. So they decided to stop. This ended Chiodos' fifteen-year journey.
