Claud Mintz, known professionally as Claud, is an American singer and songwriter. They are from the suburbs of Chicago. Claud is non-binary, which means they don't identify as only male or female. They use they/them pronouns. Claud is known for their unique style of music called bedroom pop.

Claud's Music Journey

Claud started making music in 2018. At first, they used the name Toast. They released a short collection of songs called an EP that year.

Becoming a Full-Time Artist

In 2019, Claud decided to focus completely on music. They left college at Syracuse University to follow their dream. On October 25, 2019, Claud released another EP called Sideline Star.

Forming the Band Shelly

In 2020, Claud joined with other musicians to form a new band. The band was called Shelly. The other members were Clairo, Josh Mehling, and Noa Frances Getzug. Shelly released two songs, "Steeeam" and "Natural," on October 30, 2020.

Signing with a Record Label

Also in 2020, Claud made history. They became the very first artist to sign with Phoebe Bridgers' record label. This label is called Saddest Factory Records. A record label helps artists record and release their music.

First Albums and Success

Claud's first full album was Super Monster. It came out on February 12, 2021. Later that year, in October 2021, Claud performed with the band Bleachers. This was at their Austin City Limits show. One of Claud's songs, "Soft Spot," was very popular. It was even included on Vogue's list of the best songs of 2021.

In 2023, Claud was featured on a song called "To Be Yours." This song was by the EDM duo Odesza. On July 14, 2023, Claud released their second album. It is titled Supermodels. A song from this album, "A Good Thing," was used in the TV show Heartstopper. It was featured in the season 3 finale episode.
