Clear Lake is a small community in Skagit County, Washington, United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the U.S. Census Bureau defines for statistical purposes, but it's not an officially incorporated city or town. In 2020, about 1,228 people lived there. Clear Lake is part of the larger Mount Vernon–Anacortes area.
Geography of Clear Lake
Clear Lake is located at 48°27′39″N 122°14′4″W / 48.46083°N 122.23444°W. The area covers about 2.2 square miles (5.8 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, about 1.9 square miles (4.9 square kilometers). The rest, about 0.3 square miles (0.8 square kilometers), is water. The community is special because it sits right between two lakes: Mud Lake and Clear Lake.

History of Clear Lake
Clear Lake was officially planned and mapped out in 1890. This happened when the railroad line was extended to reach this spot. A post office opened in Clear Lake in 1891, helping the community grow. Today, you can visit a museum in Clear Lake. It is located in the old Odd Fellows Hall on State Route 9.
