Cleveland is a small city in White County, Georgia. It's about 90 miles (145 km) northeast of Atlanta and 128 miles (206 km) southeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 2020, about 3,514 people lived there. Cleveland is the main city, or county seat, of White County.
This city is known for a few fun places. You can visit the North Georgia Zoo and Petting Farm. It's also home to Babyland General Hospital, where the famous Cabbage Patch Kids dolls are "born" and adopted.

History of Cleveland
Before 1883, Cleveland was called 'New Prospect'. This name goes back to 1806, when the area was first settled. When White County was formed in 1857, New Prospect became its county seat. The town was officially made a city in 1870.
In 1883, its name changed to Cleveland. It was named after General Benjamin Cleveland, a hero from the War of 1812. He was the grandson of Colonel Benjamin Cleveland, who fought in the Revolutionary War. When a railroad arrived in 1888, Cleveland started to grow. It was officially recognized as a city in 1949.
Geography and Climate
Cleveland is located at 34°35′47″N 83°45′50″W / 34.59639°N 83.76389°W. The city covers about 3.2 square miles (8.3 square kilometers) of land.

White County School District

Truett McConnell University
Truett McConnell University is a private university in Cleveland. It is a Christian liberal arts college. The university is connected to the Georgia Baptist Convention. It was named to honor George W. Truett and Fernando C. McConnell.
