Coast Rider is a fun steel roller coaster at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. It's a special type of ride known as a "wild mouse" roller coaster.

History of Coast Rider

Coast Rider was built where another water ride, called Perilous Plunge, used to be. Perilous Plunge closed down in September 2012.

The company that owns Knott's Berry Farm, Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, decided to build Coast Rider. They officially announced the new ride in November 2012. Coast Rider opened to the public on May 25, 2013. It was part of a brand new area at the park called "The Boardwalk."

Riding Coast Rider

When you ride Coast Rider, you'll first climb 52 feet to the very top. This part of the ride can feel pretty exciting! It's designed to be a great roller coaster for families to enjoy together.

Once you reach the top, you'll zoom down the 1,339 feet of track. The ride feels like you're cruising along the California coast. It has lots of quick, sharp turns, twists, and spins that make it a thrilling adventure.

The design of Coast Rider is very similar to another roller coaster called Apple Zapple at Kings Dominion park. It also has a similar layout, but reversed, to the Lego Technic Test Track roller coaster at Legoland.
