Cody Lee Martin (born September 28, 1995) is an American professional basketball player. He played for the Phoenix Suns in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Cody played college basketball for the NC State Wolfpack and the Nevada Wolf Pack. He is the twin brother of fellow basketball player Caleb Martin. The Charlotte Hornets picked him in the second round of the 2019 NBA draft.

High School Basketball Journey

Cody Martin played basketball at Oak Hill Academy. This school is known for its strong basketball program. He played there with his twin brother, Caleb Martin. Before Oak Hill, Cody and Caleb played for three seasons at Davie County High School. This school is located in Mocksville, North Carolina. Cody also played football during his first year of high school. The brothers decided to attend North Carolina State University for college.

College Basketball Career

As a second-year student at NC State, Cody Martin averaged 6.0 points per game. He also grabbed 4.4 rebounds and made 2.3 assists per game. After that season, the Martin twins decided to transfer to Nevada. They wanted to play for coach Eric Musselman.

Cody sat out one season, which is called a redshirt year. After that, he was named the Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He averaged 14 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. He helped the Nevada Wolf Pack reach the NCAA Tournament. After this successful season, Cody and his brother thought about joining the 2018 NBA draft. They did not hire an agent, which meant they could still return to college. Both brothers also took part in the NBA Draft Combine. However, they chose to return to Nevada for their final year of college.

Before his senior season began, Cody Martin was chosen for the Preseason MWC Team. This showed that people expected him to have another great year.
