Colbert is a town located in Bryan County, Oklahoma, in the United States. In 2010, about 1,140 people lived there. This was a small increase from the 1,065 people counted in 2000. Colbert officially became a town in 1939.

History of Colbert
The Colbert family became important leaders among the Chickasaw people for many years. This began with William "de Blainville" Colbert. He was born in France, but his family was from Scotland. They had to leave Scotland during a time of big changes called the Glorious Revolution.
William traveled to the New World to become a fur trader. He married the eldest daughter of a Chickasaw chief. This marriage helped the Colbert family become very influential. Their children and grandchildren also married into Chickasaw and Cherokee families. Some famous Colbert chiefs were George Colbert and Levi Colbert.

Colbert is located in Oklahoma. The United States Census Bureau says the town covers about 1.1 square miles (2.8 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
