Colinroobie is a small rural community located in the central part of the Riverina region in southern New South Wales, Australia. A rural community means it's a place with farms and open spaces, rather than a big city. The area is known for its agriculture, especially farming.
Colinroobie was once known by a different name, Bents Hill. Its name was officially changed to Colinroobie in January 2005.
Where is Colinroobie?
Colinroobie is found by road about 33 kilometres (20 miles) north of Narrandera. It is also about 27 kilometres (17 miles) south of Barellan. Both Narrandera and Barellan are other towns in the Riverina region.
A Bit of History
Like many small communities, Colinroobie had its own post office a long time ago. The Colinroobie Post Office first opened its doors on 5 November 1895. It served the local community for many years, helping people send and receive letters and packages. However, it eventually closed down in 1952.
