History of Coolidge, Texas
Coolidge was started in 1903 by the Trinity and Brazos Valley Railway. This railway was building tracks between Hillsboro and Mexia. The same railway also helped another nearby town, Tehuacana, grow.
Coolidge stopped having train service in 1942. However, the old train station building stayed. It was later fixed up and now serves as a visitor center. For a long time, the main job in Coolidge was cotton farming. Later, by the mid-1900s, most people started raising cattle instead.

Coolidge is located at 31°45′9″N 96°39′2″W / 31.75250°N 96.65056°W. It is in the state of Texas.
The town covers a total area of about 1.0 square mile (2.55 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a small part, about 0.04 square miles (0.09 square kilometers), is water.
