Cordillera Province (which means "Mountain Range Province" in Spanish) is one of six provinces in the Santiago Metropolitan Region of central Chile. This area is known for its amazing natural features. You can find a small part of Chile's central valley here. It also has huge glaciers, flowing rivers, and tall volcanoes. The mighty Andes mountain range forms the border with Mendoza Province in Argentina.
The main city and capital of Cordillera Province is Puente Alto. It is located about 21 kilometers (13 miles) southeast of Santiago, the capital city of Chile.
