Corey Locke's Hockey Journey

Corey Locke started his hockey journey playing junior A hockey with the Newmarket Hurricanes. He then joined the Ottawa 67's in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Locke played three seasons in the OHL. He won the Red Tilson Trophy twice in a row as the league's best player. In 2003, he scored 151 points, which was the most in the CHL. During the 2002–2003 season, Locke and Matt Foy were a very strong scoring duo.

After this great season, Locke was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 2003. He was the 113th player picked overall. He returned to play one more season in junior hockey.

In 2004, Locke signed a contract with the Canadiens. He was sent to their minor league team, the Hamilton Bulldogs, to keep improving his skills. He helped the Bulldogs win the Calder Cup in the 2006–07 season. This is a big championship in the AHL. Locke played so well in Hamilton that he got to play his first NHL game for the Canadiens in 2008.

In 2008, Locke was traded to the Minnesota Wild. He played for their minor league team, the Houston Aeros. He helped the Aeros reach the Western Conference finals, scoring 23 points in the playoffs.

In 2009, Locke signed a one-year deal with the New York Rangers. He played for their AHL team, the Hartford Wolf Pack. On March 28, 2010, Locke was called up to the NHL and played his first game for the Rangers. He finished the season with 85 points in 76 games for the Wolf Pack. This earned him a spot on the AHL Second All-Star Team.

In 2010, Locke signed a two-year contract with the Ottawa Senators. He got his first NHL point on January 13, 2011, by assisting on a goal. Locke mostly played for the Senators' AHL team, the Binghamton Senators. In 2011, he won the AHL MVP award, and the Binghamton Senators won the AHL championship. Locke was injured for much of the 2011-12 season.

In 2012, Locke moved to Europe to play for TPS in Finland. Later, he joined the Polar Bears in Germany, where he played with his former OHL teammate Matt Foy.

After playing in Germany, Locke returned to the American Hockey League in 2013, signing with the Chicago Wolves. In 2014, he went back to Germany to play for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers.

In 2015, Locke signed a contract with EHC Visp in Switzerland. He played very well there, scoring more than a point per game. He then continued his European career, joining EC VSV in Austria.
