This park is found in Cape May County. It is just south of Ocean City. The park is right next to Corson's Inlet. It also includes the Strathmere Natural Area. This area is located north of Strathmere.
Nature and Wildlife at the Park
The park covers about 341-acre (1.38 km2) of untouched sand dunes. These dunes are very important. They are a safe nesting spot for special birds. These include the endangered piping plover. You can also find the least tern and black skimmers here. Many other shorebirds and waterfowl visit too. Look for American oystercatchers and different kinds of sandpipers. You might also see gulls, herons, sanderlings, and ducks.
Endangered Species You Might Find
Two endangered species live in the park. One is the piping plover, which is a bird. The other is the seabeach amaranth. This is a rare plant. Protecting these species is a key goal of the park.
History of Corson's Inlet
The New Jersey Legislature created Corson's Inlet State Park in 1969. A "legislature" is a group of people who make laws. They wanted to protect this area. It was one of the last undeveloped places on the New Jersey coastline. Since it was created, the park has been managed by Belleplain State Forest.
Park Improvements and Concerns
In 2012, the park received a grant. This was $5,850 from the federal government. The money was for a new boardwalk trail. This trail would be 300 ft (91 m) long. It would form a loop in the park. The New Jersey State Park Service also added $3,700. However, some local environmental groups were concerned. They worried the boardwalk might harm the natural environment.

Enjoying the Beaches
The beaches at the park are open during the summer months. They are a great place to relax. You can enjoy the sun and the ocean.
Boating and Water Fun
Boating is allowed in the park. Rules for boating are set by New Jersey laws. The boat ramp is open all year. You can use it 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is a small fee to launch your boat. This fee is charged from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Fishing Adventures
Corson's Inlet is a great spot for fishing. You might catch blue fish or kingfish. Striped bass and weakfish are also common. Fishing rules are set by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Fishermen can use four-wheel-drive vehicles. A special permit is needed for this. You can use these vehicles from September 16 to May 14.

Please note that pets are not allowed in the park during nesting season. This rule helps protect the birds. It keeps their nesting areas safe and undisturbed.
