Peter Cory Pankey, Jr. (born June 22, 1987), known by his stage name Cory Gunz, is an American rapper from the Bronx, New York City. His father is the rapper Peter Gunz.

Cory Gunz is most famous for his guest verse on the 2010 hit song "6 Foot 7 Foot" by Lil Wayne. The song was very popular, reaching number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart. After this success, he signed with Lil Wayne's record label, Young Money Entertainment.

He also starred in a 2011 documentary series called Son of a Gun. The show was presented by his mentor, comedian and actor Nick Cannon, and it followed his life and music career.

Music Career

Cory Gunz started his career at a young age. When he was only 14, he was signed by music executive Tommy Mottola to two record labels, Casablanca Records and Def Jam Recordings. Famous rapper Jay-Z also helped guide his early career.

One of his first big appearances was on a remix of Rihanna's song "If It's Lovin' That You Want". He also released a popular mixtape called The Apprentice 3 – Season Finale. A mixtape is a collection of songs, similar to an album, that artists often release for free.

In 2010, he officially joined Young Money Entertainment. The next year, his feature on Lil Wayne's song "6 Foot 7 Foot" made him well-known to a wider audience. That same year, his reality show Son of a Gun aired on MTV. The show gave fans a look into his life and his friendship with Nick Cannon.

Over the years, Cory Gunz has worked with many different record labels. When Universal Republic Records closed, he and other artists moved to the newly reopened Republic Records. In 2013, he released the mixtape Datz ... I'm Talkin Bout, which featured artists like Busta Rhymes, Wiz Khalifa, and Juicy J. In 2014, he announced he was working on a new project called an EP, titled Kriminal Mind.
