However, in late 2010, the mill was bought by a new company called the Gores Group. They renamed it Cosmo Specialty Fibers. This mill now makes special types of pulp. Much of what they produce is sent to Asia from the port in Aberdeen. This helped bring jobs back to the area.
City Improvements: Infrastructure

Mill Creek Dam: Helping Fish Migrate
A new dam was built on Mill Creek. This project, finished in 2018, cost $3.1 million. It replaced an old dam that had broken in 2008. The new dam is special because it includes "fish ladders." These ladders help salmon and trout swim past the dam to lay their eggs. Soon after the new dam was built, fish were seen using these ladders, which is great for the local environment.
