Courtney Ramey (born October 2, 1999) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for Start Lublin in the Polish Basketball League (PLK). Before becoming a professional, he played college basketball for the Texas Longhorns and the Arizona Wildcats.

High School Basketball Star
Courtney played basketball for Webster Groves High School in Webster Groves, Missouri. As a junior, he was a fantastic player. He averaged 20 points, eight rebounds, and six assists per game. He helped his team win the Class 5 state championship. He was also named the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Player of the Year.
In his senior year, Courtney continued to shine. He averaged 22 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists per game. His team won their second straight Class 5 state title. He shared the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Player of the Year award that season.
Courtney became his school's all-time leader in points and assists. He also received the Mr. Show-Me Basketball award. This award goes to the best high school basketball player in Missouri.
He first planned to play college basketball for Louisville. However, he changed his mind after an investigation involving the program. He then chose to play for Texas. He picked Texas over offers from other big schools like Louisville, Missouri, and Oklahoma State.
College Career Highlights
As a freshman at Texas, Courtney made a big impact. His coach, Shaka Smart, praised his play on both offense and defense. He averaged 8.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. He helped his team win the 2019 National Invitation Tournament (NIT). The NIT is a college basketball tournament held each spring.
In his sophomore year, Courtney had a great game on February 9, 2019. He scored 25 points, grabbed six rebounds, and made five steals against Kansas State. He averaged 10.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game that season. He was named to the All-Big 12 honorable mention team.
As a junior, Courtney continued to improve. On January 2, 2021, he scored 18 points. This helped his team upset the third-ranked Kansas team. He averaged 12.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. He earned Third Team All-Big 12 honors. After this season, he considered entering the 2021 NBA draft but kept his option to return to college.
Professional Basketball Journey
Courtney Ramey started his professional career on June 30, 2023. He signed his first contract with Syntainics MBC in Germany. This team plays in the German Basketball Bundesliga. He later left the team on October 14, 2023.
On November 6, 2023, Courtney signed with Nevėžis Kėdainiai. This team plays in the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL).
As of August 2, 2024, he signed with Start Lublin. This team is part of the Polish Basketball League (PLK). He continues to play for them today.
Personal Life
Courtney Ramey wears the number 3 jersey. He chose this number to honor three important people in his life. These were his grandmother, his mother, and his best friend, Alvin. All three passed away during his childhood. His father, Terrell, coached him on his Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) team when he was younger.
