Craig Roberts is a talented actor and director from Wales. He was born on January 21, 1991. Many people know him for his main roles in the movie Submarine. He also starred as David Meyers in the TV show Red Oaks. Another famous role was Rio Wellard in the TV series The Story of Tracy Beaker.

Early Life and Growing Up

Craig Roberts was born on January 21, 1991. His parents are Alison Bishop and Haydn Roberts. He grew up in a place called Maesycwmmer in Caerphilly, Wales. Craig went to Lewis School, Pengam. He has a sister named Chelsea. He also has two half-sisters, Natalee and Angharad.

Craig's Acting Journey

Craig Roberts started his acting career on television. His first roles were in TV dramas like Care in 2000 and Little Pudding in 2003. After these, he got parts in popular shows. These included The Story of Tracy Beaker from 2004 to 2006. He also appeared in Casualty from 2005 to 2008. Craig played a character who loved vampires, Robin Branagh, in Young Dracula from 2006 to 2008. He also acted in dramas called Kiddo (2005) and Scratching (2006).

Acting on Stage

In 2008, Craig performed in a play called Full Time. He toured Britain with the Y Touring Theatre Company. The play talked about important topics like racism and sexism in football. In 2009, he played Drax, the evil queen's helper, in the pantomime Snow White. This show was in Worthing.

In 2010, Craig Roberts became very well known for his role in the film Submarine. He played the main teenage character, Oliver Tate. The movie was based on a book by Joe Dunthorne. It was directed by Richard Ayoade. Other actors in the film included Paddy Considine and Yasmin Paige.

On October 9, 2015, Amazon Studios released the first season of Red Oaks. This was an original comedy series where Craig played a main role with Paul Reiser. The show was very popular. A second season came out in late 2016. The show then had a third and final season.

In 2016, Craig starred in the film The Fundamentals of Caring with Paul Rudd. He played Trevor, an 18-year-old boy who was very clever. Trevor had a condition called Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The movie was first shown at the Sundance Film Festival in January. It was then released on Netflix in June.

In 2019, Craig Roberts appeared in the movie Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans. He played the role of Emperor Nero.
