Crestmore Heights used to be a small community in Riverside County, California. It is now part of the city of Jurupa Valley, California. Crestmore Heights is located about 1,033 feet (315 meters) above sea level. In 2010, a count of the population showed that 384 people lived there.
Where is Crestmore Heights?
This community is located in California. It sits south of a city called Fontana. It is also north of downtown Riverside, California. The Santa Ana River is to its west.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Crestmore Heights covers a small area. It is about 0.3 square miles (0.7 square kilometers) in size. All of this area is land, with no water.
The Crestmore Quarry
On the east side of the hill, there is a large, former quarry called Crestmore Quarry. A company named Riverside Portland Cement Company used to have a factory here. They used both limestone and a rock called granodiorite from the quarry. These materials were used to make cement. People also collected interesting mineral samples from this mine.
By March 2015, the mining work at this historic cement factory had stopped. After the operations closed down, the local environment seemed to improve.
Who Lives in Crestmore Heights?
The 2010 United States Census counted the people living in Crestmore Heights. It found that 384 people lived there. This means about 1,335 people lived in each square mile.
Most of the people were White, making up about 59.6% of the population. About 35% of the people were from other racial backgrounds. About 68.5% of the people identified as Hispanic or Latino.
All 384 people lived in homes with families or individuals. No one lived in group homes or institutions. There were 112 households in total. About 37% of these homes had children under 18 years old. The average household had about 3.43 people.
