Joseph Edward Nichols (born November 26, 1976) is a popular American country music singer. He started his music journey in the mid-1990s. Over the years, Joe Nichols has released many studio albums. These albums have given us more than 14 hit songs that made it to the Top 40 on the Billboard country music charts.
Some of his most famous songs include "Brokenheartsville", "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off", "Gimmie That Girl", and "Sunny and 75". These songs all reached number one on the charts! He also had a very popular song called "Yeah".

About Joe Nichols' Early Life
Joe Nichols was born and grew up in Rogers, Arkansas. He was the second child in his family. His father played bass guitar in local country bands. This helped Joe get interested in music from a young age.
Before becoming a famous singer, Joe worked in a local rock band. He also worked as a country disc jockey, playing music for others. His family has Native American roots, with his father being part Cherokee and his mother part Comanche.
Joe Nichols' Musical Journey
Joe Nichols started working on his singing and songwriting skills with a record producer named Randy Edwards. When he was just 19 years old, he signed his first record deal. This was with a company called Intersound Records.
In 1996, he released his first album, also called Joe Nichols. One song from this album, "Six of One, Half a Dozen of the Other," did well in Canada. However, the album did not sell many copies, and he left Intersound. He then signed with Giant Records, but this deal was also short. After these early deals, Joe worked different jobs in Nashville, like moving furniture and selling steaks.
Finding Success with Man with a Memory (1999–2003)
In 1999, Joe Nichols met Brent Rowan, a guitarist in Nashville. Brent helped him get a new record deal with Universal South Records. In July 2002, Joe released his second album, Man with a Memory.
The first song from this album, "The Impossible", became a huge hit. It reached number 3 on the Billboard country charts. Billboard even said it was one of the most played country songs of 2003. This album helped Joe win an award for Top New Male Vocalist from the Academy of Country Music. He also received three Grammy Award nominations.
His next song, "Brokenheartsville", became his very first number one hit in 2003. Other songs from the album, "She Only Smokes When She Drinks" and "Cool to Be a Fool", also made it into the Top 20. In 2003, Joe Nichols also won the Horizon Award from the Country Music Association.
More Hit Albums (2004–2007)
In 2004, Joe Nichols toured with famous country singer Alan Jackson. That same year, he released his third album, Revelation. This album had two Top Ten hits: "If Nobody Believed in You" and "What's a Guy Gotta Do". He also released a Christmas album called A Traditional Christmas.
III was Joe's fourth album, released in October 2005. Its first song, "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off", became his second number one hit. Both the song and the album sold very well. The album also included Top Ten hits like "Size Matters (Someday)" and "I'll Wait for You". Joe Nichols joined Toby Keith on tours in both 2005 and 2006.
His fifth album, Real Things, came out in August 2007. The songs "Another Side of You" and "It Ain't No Crime" from this album were both Top 20 country hits.
New Music and Changes (2008–2015)
In 2009, Joe Nichols released a new song called "Believers." It was the first song from his sixth album, Old Things New. While "Believers" did not reach the Top 20, the next song from the album, "Gimmie That Girl", became his third number one hit in May 2010. Another song, "The Shape I'm In", reached number 17.
His seventh album, It's All Good, was released in November 2011. The only song released from this album was "Take It Off", which reached number 25. After this, Joe Nichols left Show Dog-Universal.
In October 2012, Joe Nichols signed with a new record company called Red Bow. On April 22, 2013, his song "Sunny and 75" was released online. It quickly became a number one hit on the Country Airplay chart in December 2013. His eighth album, Crickets, was released in October 2013. "Sunny and 75" sold over 500,000 digital copies. The album's second song, "Yeah", also became a number one hit in July 2014.
In 2014, Joe Nichols sang a song called "Red Dress" with Lucy Hale. This song appeared on her album, Road Between.
Recent Years (2015–Present)
In 2017, Joe Nichols released his ninth studio album, Never Gets Old. He later left Broken Bow Music Group in August 2018.
On April 23, 2021, Joe Nichols released a new song called "Home Run." This was his first new song in three years. His tenth studio album, Good Day for Living, was released in February 2022.
Joe Nichols' Personal Life
Joe Nichols married Heather Singleton on September 9, 2007. They had known each other since they were 19 years old. The couple has two daughters together. Joe also has another daughter from a previous relationship.
Joe Nichols is a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
