Croft is a small village in Lincolnshire, England. It is located in the East Lindsey area. You can find it about 2 kilometres (1.2 miles) north-east of Wainfleet. It is also about 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) south-west of Skegness, a popular seaside town.

A Glimpse into Croft's Past
Croft has a long history. It was even mentioned in the famous Domesday Book from 1086. This was a huge survey ordered by William the Conqueror. Back then, Croft had 15 households. It also had a large area of meadow and a special building for making salt.

All Saints' Church: A Historic Building
The village church is called All Saints. It is a very old building, first built in the 1300s. It is made of a special green stone. Inside, you can see old statues and memorials.
One memorial shows Sir Valentine Browne (who died in 1600) and his wife Elizabeth. It also shows their fifteen children! Another memorial is for their son, John Browne. The church was repaired in 1656 and again in 1857.
The Old Windmill
Croft has an old tower windmill. It was built in 1814. In 1859, it was made taller, going from four to seven floors. Later, in 1949, it was made smaller again, back to four floors. The windmill is made of red brick. Today, it no longer has its milling machinery inside.
The Old Chequers Inn
The Old Chequers Inn is a historic public house in Croft. It dates back to the 1700s.
Railway Stations in Croft
Croft parish has two railway stations. One is Havenhouse railway station, which is still open. The other, Seacroft railway station, is now closed.
Other Areas in Croft Parish
The parish of Croft is mostly countryside and stretches all the way to the coast. Another small area within the parish is called New England. It is just east of Wainfleet All Saints.
Future Plans: Wind Farm
In 2011, a company called REG Windpower shared plans for a wind farm near Croft. They wanted to install six wind turbines at Bank House Farm. These plans were still being discussed.
How Croft is Governed
Croft is part of an "electoral ward" which is a special area for voting. This ward is also called Croft. It stretches north-west to Great Steeping. In 2011, the total population of this ward was 2,288 people.
