What Can You Do at Crunchyroll Expo?
Crunchyroll Expo offers many exciting activities for attendees. You can explore the Artists Alley, where talented artists sell their unique creations. There's also a Dealers Room, full of official merchandise and collectibles.
Many people enjoy the Masquerade, which is a big cosplay contest. You can also attend panels, where experts and special guests talk about anime and related topics. Plus, there are video games to play and new ones to discover!
History of Crunchyroll Expo
Crunchyroll Expo first opened its doors in 2017. The very first event was held at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. A company called LeftField Media helped Crunchyroll organize this first convention.
The first year was a big learning experience. Many tickets were sold just before the event started. Another convention, MAGWest, was happening at the same time. The two events worked together so people could visit both.
In 2018, Crunchyroll Expo moved to its current home. This is the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. Starting in 2020, Crunchyroll teamed up with Reedpop to help run the expo.
Sadly, Crunchyroll Expo 2020 had to be cancelled. This was because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, they held an online event called Virtual Crunchyroll Expo. It took place from September 4–6, 2020.
