Curren De Mille Price Jr. was born on December 16, 1950, in Los Angeles, California. He is an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party. Currently, he serves as a Los Angeles city council member for District 9.
Before joining the city council, Price was a California State Senator. He represented the state's 26th Senate District. He won this seat in a special election held on May 19, 2009. This election was to fill the position left by Mark Ridley-Thomas.
Price also served as a member of the California State Assembly. He represented the state's 51st Assembly District. He was first elected to this role in 2006 and was re-elected in 2008. On July 1, 2013, Price resigned from the state senate. He then became a Los Angeles city councilman.

Curren Price's Political Journey
Early Steps in Inglewood City Council
Curren Price began his political career in the city of Inglewood. From 1993 to 1997, he was a member of the Inglewood City Council. He represented District 1 of the city.
In 1997, Price ran for mayor of Inglewood but was not elected. However, he returned to the city council in 2001. He held his former seat until 2006. During his time on the council, he led the City Council Community Economic Development Committee. This committee worked on improving the local economy.
Serving Los Angeles County
Beyond his city council duties, Price also helped Los Angeles County. He was part of the Los Angeles County Commission on Insurance. He also served on the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's South Bay Governance Council. For several years, he worked as a consultant. He helped small businesses through the Small Business Administration-sponsored Small Business Development Center.
Moving to State Politics
In 2006, Curren Price was elected to the California State Assembly. He represented the 51st District. He was re-elected for a second term in 2008. His work in the Assembly focused on state-level issues.
