Where is D'Aguilar?
D'Aguilar is located along the D'Aguilar Highway. This road connects it to towns like Wamuran and Woodford. It's also where the Brisbane–Woodford Road begins in the north. This road goes south through Delaneys Creek and Mount Mee to Dayboro. A small part of the Beerburrum West State Forest is also found in D'Aguilar.
How D'Aguilar Got Its Name
The town of D'Aguilar is named after a military officer. His name was Major General Sir George D'Aguilar. He wrote an important army textbook called Regulations and Punishments of the British Army. This book was used by the army when the town was first established. Over time, the mountain range where the town is located also became known as the D'Aguilar Range.
