Déborah François (born on May 24, 1987) is a talented Belgian actress. She is well-known for her main role in the movie The Child (2005), which won a big award called the Palme d'Or. In 2009, she also won a César Award for Most Promising Actress for her work in The First Day of the Rest of Your Life.

Early Life and Background
Déborah François was born in Rocourt, Liège, a town in Belgium. Her father was a policeman, and her mother was a social worker. She is the middle child of three children in her family.
Déborah's Acting Journey
Déborah grew up in Liège, a part of Belgium where people speak French. In 2005, two film producers, Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, discovered her. They offered her a main role in their movie, L'Enfant – The Child.
First Big Role: The Child
The movie The Child was filmed near Déborah's hometown. It tells the story of a young couple, Bruno and Sonia, and the challenges they face. This film was very successful and won the Palme d'Or at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. This is one of the highest awards a film can receive!
Becoming a Star: More Film Roles
After her first movie, Déborah left school to focus on acting. Her next film was a thriller called La Tourneuse de pages - The Page Turner in 2006. In this movie, she played a character named Mélanie. Critics really liked her performance, and she was even nominated for a César Award in 2007.
In 2009, Déborah won a César Award for her role as Fleur in The First Day of the Rest of Your Life. That same year, she also received the Romy-Schneider Prize. She continued to act in many films, including My Queen Karo and Populaire. For Populaire, she was nominated for the Magritte Award for Best Actress in 2014. She was also nominated for Maestro in 2015.
Life Outside of Acting
Déborah François now lives in Paris, France. She grew up in Liège, Belgium, and even went to the same high school as another actress, Marie Gillain.
After her first movie, L'Enfant, Déborah said her life changed a lot. She never expected to travel the world for film festivals. It was a very different experience from her high school days!
