DeVante Jaylen Wilson (born February 19, 1996) is an American professional basketball player. He plays as a power forward for the Shanghai Sharks in China. Before turning pro, D. J. Wilson played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines. He was chosen 17th overall in the 2017 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Early Life and High School Basketball
D. J. Wilson grew up in Mount Shasta, California. He went to Capital Christian School in Sacramento. During high school, he faced a tough injury. He had a stress fracture in his lower back. This injury kept him from playing for a while. He even had to wear a back brace.
Despite his injury, D. J. grew a lot. He shot up 5 inches in one year! This made him 6 feet 8 inches tall. After recovering, he started playing great again. He scored 22 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in one game. Soon, big colleges like Michigan wanted him to play for them. He chose Michigan over other strong schools.
D. J. signed with Michigan in November 2013. He was one of the top players in his class. Many people thought he was the first player from the Sacramento area to sign with a Big Ten Conference school.
College Career at Michigan
D. J. Wilson played for the Michigan Wolverines from 2014 to 2017.
Freshman Year (2014–2015)
Before his first season, D. J. had finger surgery. He also had a knee injury early in the season. This meant he missed most of his freshman year. It was a tough start for him.
Sophomore Year (2015–2016)
In his second year, D. J. started to get more playing time. He helped Michigan win a game by a huge 59 points! He also became good at blocking shots. He had two blocks in a big upset win against Maryland. This was a very exciting game for Michigan.
Junior Year (2016–2017)
This was D. J.'s best college season. He showed how good he was.
- He scored a career-high 28 points and got 14 rebounds against Iowa.
- He made a game-tying three-point shot against Minnesota.
- In the Big Ten tournament, he scored 26 points in a key win.
- Michigan won the Big Ten tournament championship! D. J. played a big part in their success.
After the season, D. J. decided to enter the 2017 NBA draft. This meant he would leave college early to become a professional player.
Professional Basketball Career
D. J. Wilson has played for several teams in the NBA and its development league, the G League.
Milwaukee Bucks (2017–2021)
The Milwaukee Bucks drafted D. J. Wilson as the 17th pick in the 2017 NBA draft. He signed a big contract with them. He played his first NBA game in October 2017. During his time with the Bucks, he also played for their G League team, the Wisconsin Herd.
In the 2018-2019 season, D. J. started to play more.
- He got a career-high 10 rebounds against the New Orleans Pelicans.
- He had his first "double-double" (scoring 10 points and getting 14 rebounds) against the New York Knicks.
- He scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Houston Rockets (2021)
In March 2021, D. J. was traded to the Houston Rockets. He played for them for a short time. After the season, he became a free agent.
Toronto Raptors and Oklahoma City Blue (2021–2023)
D. J. then signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder and later played for their G League team, the Oklahoma City Blue. He also signed a few short contracts with the Toronto Raptors. He continued to show his skills in the G League, averaging good points and rebounds.
Osceola Magic and Philadelphia 76ers (2023–2024)
In 2023, D. J. joined the Osceola Magic, another G League team. He also signed a short contract with the Philadelphia 76ers in March 2024.
Shanghai Sharks (2024–present)
In September 2024, D. J. Wilson moved to China. He signed with the Shanghai Sharks to play in the Chinese Basketball Association.
