DeVante Jaylen Wilson (born February 19, 1996) is an American professional basketball player. He plays for the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played four seasons with the Bucks before moving to the Houston Rockets in March 2021.

Early Life and Basketball Beginnings

D. J. Wilson grew up in Sacramento, California. He went to Capital Christian School. During his time there, he faced a tough injury. He had a stress fracture in his lower back. This injury kept him from playing in the summer of 2012. It also affected part of his junior year. He had to wear a back brace for three months.

Despite his injury, Wilson grew a lot. He grew 5 inches in one year, reaching a height of 6 feet 8 inches (2.03 m). By June 2013, he was back on the court. He scored 22 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in a game. Soon after, big schools like Michigan started to notice him. He chose Michigan over other offers.

Wilson officially signed with Michigan on November 13, 2013. He was a highly-rated player. Experts ranked him as one of the top prospects in the country.
