Daggubati Ramanaidu (born June 6, 1936 – died February 18, 2015) was a famous Indian film producer. He was best known for his work in Telugu cinema, which is also called Tollywood. In 1964, he started his own film company called Suresh Productions. It grew to become one of the biggest film production companies in India.
Ramanaidu holds a special place in the Guinness Book of World Records. He produced more than 150 films. These movies were made in 13 different Indian languages. He also served as a Member of Parliament for the Bapatla area in Andhra Pradesh. This was from 1999 to 2004.
In 2012, Ramanaidu received the Padma Bhushan award. This is one of India's highest civilian honors. It was given to him for his great contributions to Indian cinema. In 2009, he also got the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. This is the top award for films in India. He used a lot of his earnings to help others through the "Ramanaidu Charitable Trust," which he started in 1991.

Early Life and First Steps in Film
Daggubati Ramanaidu was born on June 6, 1936. His family lived in a village called Karamchedu in Andhra Pradesh. He finished school in his village and went to college in Chirala. Later, he graduated from Presidency College, Chennai.
He first owned a rice mill and then a transport business. His father helped produce a Telugu film called Nammina Bantu (1958). Ramanaidu even acted as a body double for the main actor in that film. He later moved to Chennai (then called Madras) in 1962. He wanted to start a brick business, but then got into real estate. He met many film people at a club, which sparked his interest in movies.
Building a Film Empire
In 1963, Ramanaidu worked with friends to make a film called Anuragam. It was not successful. After that, he started his own company, Suresh Productions. His first film under this new company was Ramudu Bheemudu (1964). This film was a big success.
In 1971, he produced Prem Nagar. This movie was a huge hit. Its success led him to make it again in Tamil and Hindi. Both of these new versions were also very popular. He made many films in Telugu and Tamil during the 1970s.
In 1983, he opened "Ramanaidu Studios" in Hyderabad. The government of Andhra Pradesh helped him build it. He made movies in many different Indian languages. These included Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Oriya, Gujarati, Bhojpuri, Assamese, and Punjabi. By 2015, he had made over 130 films in 13 languages. This amazing achievement earned him a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2008.
Family and Public Service
Ramanaidu got married in 1958. He had three children: two sons and one daughter. His older son, D. Suresh Babu, is also a film producer. His younger son, Venkatesh, is a famous actor in Telugu cinema. Ramanaidu had eight grandchildren. Two of them, Rana and Naga Chaitanya, are also actors.
Ramanaidu was a member of the Telugu Desam Party. He served as a Member of Parliament for the Bapatla area. This was from 1999 to 2004.
Awards and Recognition

Ramanaidu received many important awards for his work in films:
- Padma Bhushan (2012) - One of India's highest civilian awards.

His Passing
Daggubati Ramanaidu passed away on February 18, 2015. He was 78 years old. He died in Hyderabad, Telangana. Many famous stars from Tollywood came to pay their respects.
