Jason Matthew Quenneville (born February 23, 1982), known professionally as DaHeala, is a Canadian music producer and songwriter. He helps create songs for many famous artists. Some of the artists he has worked with include The Weeknd, Halsey, and Lil Uzi Vert.

DaHeala has been nominated for three Grammy Awards. These nominations were for his work on The Weeknd's 2015 album, Beauty Behind the Madness. He has also worked with other well-known producers like Max Martin, Daft Punk, and Metro Boomin.

Early Life and Music Career

Jason Quenneville grew up in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. His family spoke both French and English. When he was 13, he learned how to be a DJ at a youth center. This led him to learn how to use music software called FL Studio (which used to be called FruityLoops).

DaHeala started his music career at age 23. His first big project was working on a mixtape called Death Before Dishonor for the rapper Belly. He continued to work with Belly on other projects, including the 2007 album The Revolution. He also produced all the songs on Massari's first album in 2005.

Working with The Weeknd

DaHeala began working with The Weeknd on his 2013 album, Kiss Land. He produced every song on that album, working closely with DannyBoyStyles and The Weeknd himself.

In 2014, DaHeala helped produce a song called "In Vein" for Rick Ross's album, Mastermind. This song also featured The Weeknd. He worked with other producers, Metro Boomin and Rick Rubin, on this track.

In 2015, DaHeala was a main producer for The Weeknd's album, Beauty Behind the Madness. He produced and wrote several songs on this album. These included "Often", "Acquainted", "Dark Times" (which featured Ed Sheeran), and "Earned It".

The song "Earned It" was also part of the soundtrack for the 2015 movie Fifty Shades of Grey. This song was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. It also received two Grammy Award nominations. The album Beauty Behind the Madness was nominated for Grammy Award for Album of the Year and won the award for Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

In 2016, DaHeala helped write five songs on The Weeknd's album, Starboy. This included the popular song "Starboy," which featured Daft Punk. For his work on "Starboy," DaHeala won a SOCAN No. 1 Song Award. Also in 2016, he helped write the song "Not Afraid Anymore" for Halsey. This song was on the soundtrack for the movie Fifty Shades Darker.

Over the next two years, DaHeala produced and wrote songs for other artists. These included "UnFazed" for Lil Uzi Vert (featuring The Weeknd), "A Lie" for French Montana (featuring The Weeknd), and "What I Need" for Nav.

In 2020, DaHeala co-wrote and produced songs for The Weeknd's album, After Hours. This album included the huge hit song "Blinding Lights". "Blinding Lights" became the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a long time. It was even named the greatest Hot 100 hit of all time by Billboard in 2021. The Weeknd later released three bonus songs for the After Hours album, all produced by DaHeala.
