Dallas Leon Baker (born November 10, 1982) is a former American football player. He played as a wide receiver for various teams. These included the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League (NFL). He also played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the Arena Football League (AFL).

Baker won a Super Bowl with the Steelers in 2009. He also won a college national championship with the Florida Gators. Today, Dallas Baker is a football coach. He teaches wide receivers at Baylor University.

Early Life and High School Football

Dallas Baker was born in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He went to New Smyrna Beach High School. There, he was a star wide receiver for the Barracudas football team.

In 2001, he set a school record. He scored seventeen touchdowns, caught 67 passes, and gained 1,142 yards. After high school, he spent a year at Northfield Mount Hermon School. He helped his team reach the New England championship game in football. He also played basketball there.

College Football Career

Baker earned a scholarship to play football at the University of Florida. He played for the Florida Gators football team from 2003 to 2006. When coach Urban Meyer joined the Gators, Baker's college career really took off.

In 2005, he caught 56 passes. This was twice as many as the year before. As a senior in 2006, Baker was a team captain. He had his best year with 60 catches, 920 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns. He was named to the First-Team All-Southeastern Conference (SEC).

Baker made a big play in the Gators' 21–14 win over the Florida State Seminoles. His 25-yard touchdown catch helped them win. The Gators then won the SEC Championship Game. They later beat the Ohio State Buckeyes 41–14 to win the national championship. Baker caught a touchdown pass in that big game. During his college days, ESPN analysts called him "Dallas Baker, Touchdown Maker."

He earned his degree from the University of Florida in December 2006. He studied health and human performance.

Playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers picked Dallas Baker in the 2007 NFL draft. He was the 227th player chosen overall. He played for the Steelers in 2007 and 2008.

In 2008, he played in eight games. He had one catch for six yards. Even though he was released at times, he often rejoined the team's practice squad. He was part of the Steelers team that won Super Bowl XLIII in 2009.

Time in Other Leagues

After the NFL, Baker played in the Arena Football League (AFL). He joined the Jacksonville Sharks in 2010.

He also played in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He signed with the Montreal Alouettes in 2011. Later that year, he was traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He played for the Roughriders until 2012. He then returned to the AFL, playing for the San Antonio Talons from 2013 to 2014.

Coaching Career

After his playing career, Dallas Baker became a football coach. He started as the wide receivers coach at Warner University in Florida.

In 2017, he became the wide receivers coach at Marshall University. He stayed there until 2020. In 2021, he moved to Buffalo as their wide receivers coach.

In January 2022, Baker joined Baylor University. He is currently the wide receivers coach for the Baylor Bears.

Personal Life

Dallas Baker comes from a family of athletes. His uncle, Wes Chandler, was also a great wide receiver. Wes played for the Florida Gators and in the NFL.

Dallas's younger brother, Perry Baker, is a professional rugby sevens player. Perry has played for the USA in the Olympics. He competed in the 2016 and 2024 Summer Olympics.
