Dalyn Daeel Dawkins (born December 26, 1994) is a former American football player. He was a running back, which means he was a player who runs with the ball. Dalyn played college football for the Colorado State Rams. Later, he played professionally for teams like the Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions.

Growing Up and High School Football
Dalyn Dawkins was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He went to Trinity High School. During his senior year, Dalyn was an amazing player. He ran for 1,479 yards and scored 18 touchdowns. A touchdown is when a player carries the ball into the opponent's end zone. This made him one of the best players in the state. Many colleges wanted him to play for their teams. He decided to play college football at Purdue University.
College Football Journey
Dalyn started his college career at Purdue. As a freshman, he played in nine games. He ran for 115 yards and caught the ball nine times for 84 yards. After his first year, Dalyn decided to transfer to Colorado State University. He wanted to play in an offense that ran the ball more often.
Because of transfer rules, he had to sit out the 2014 season. Then, he played for the Rams for three seasons.
Success at Colorado State
In his second year, Dalyn played in 12 games. He ran for 867 yards and scored one touchdown. He also caught 24 passes for 178 yards and another touchdown. The next season, he ran for 919 yards and scored four touchdowns. He also caught 20 passes for 157 yards and a touchdown.
As a senior, Dalyn had an incredible year. He ran for 1,349 yards and scored eight touchdowns. He ran for over 100 yards in seven conference games. He was named second-team All-Mountain West Conference. Dalyn finished his college career with 3,185 rushing yards. This is the third-most in Colorado State history. He also caught 70 passes for 650 yards and three touchdowns.
Professional Football Career
After college, Dalyn Dawkins hoped to play in the NFL. He was not chosen in the NFL Draft, but he still got a chance.
Playing for the Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans signed Dalyn in May 2018. This means they offered him a contract to join their team. He made his NFL debut on September 23, 2018. He played against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Dalyn was on and off the Titans' main roster and practice squad. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team. They can be called up to play if needed. He signed a contract to stay with the Titans for the 2019 season. He was again on the main roster and practice squad throughout 2019.
Time with the Detroit Lions
In October 2020, Dalyn joined the Detroit Lions' practice squad. He moved on and off their practice squad several times that year.
Joining the Houston Gamblers
In 2022, Dalyn was chosen by the Houston Gamblers. This team is part of the USFL, another professional football league. He was on their active roster for part of the season.
Family Connections
Dalyn Dawkins comes from a family of football players. His uncle is Brian Dawkins, a famous Hall of Fame safety. His father, Ralph Dawkins, also played college football.
