Later in his life, Dan Colchico decided to donate his brain to Boston University for research. He hoped this would help scientists learn more about how repeated hits to the head in football might affect the brain. His brain samples showed he had a condition called chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). This condition is linked to repeated head impacts. Dan was one of many NFL players diagnosed with CTE after their death. His donation helps others understand more about this important topic.
