Daniel da Silva Carvalho (born on March 1, 1983), often called Daniel Carvalho, is a former Brazilian football player. He played as an attacking midfielder, a position where players help create goals and control the middle of the field.

Playing for Clubs
Daniel Carvalho began his football journey in Brazil with Sport Club Internacional. In early 2004, he moved to CSKA Moscow in Russia. He joined other Brazilian players there, like Vágner Love and Jô.
Success at CSKA Moscow
Carvalho made a great start at CSKA Moscow. He scored the winning goal in his very first game, helping his team win the 2004 Russian Super Cup. In 2005, he was named the Russian Footballer of the Year. This was a big honor, as he was the first foreign player to receive it.
His amazing performance in the 2005 UEFA Cup was key to CSKA Moscow's victory. They won the competition, beating Sporting Lisbon in the final. This made CSKA the first Russian club to ever win a UEFA competition. Daniel Carvalho was named the "Man of the Match" in the final because he helped set up all three of CSKA's goals. He also scored a goal in the UEFA Super Cup against Liverpool, showing he could play well against top European teams.
Moving to Other Teams
After his time at CSKA Moscow, Daniel Carvalho went back to Brazil for a short loan spell with Sport Club Internacional in 2008. In 2010, he moved to Al-Arabi Sports Club in Qatar. Later that year, he returned to Brazil and joined Atlético Mineiro.
He also played for Criciúma in 2013. After that, he decided to retire from professional football and started playing futsal, which is a type of indoor football. However, he returned to professional football in 2015, signing with Botafogo in Brazil.
Playing for Brazil
Daniel Carvalho also played for the Brazilian national team. He was first called up for a friendly match against Norway on August 16, 2006. He started that game and scored a goal on his debut! He also played in a 3–0 win against Argentina.
