Success in Russia

Carvalho made a great start at CSKA Moscow. He scored the winning goal in his very first game, helping his team win the 2004 Russian Super Cup.

In 2005, he became the first non-Russian player to be named Russian Footballer of the Year. This was a big honor!

He played a key role when CSKA Moscow won the UEFA Cup in 2005. This was a huge win, making CSKA the first Russian club to ever win a major European competition. Daniel was named "Man of the Match" in the final because he helped create all three of CSKA's goals.

Later, he scored in the UEFA Super Cup against Liverpool. Even though CSKA lost that game, Daniel showed he could play well against top European teams.

Moving Around and Back to Brazil

After his time at CSKA Moscow, Daniel Carvalho went on loan back to Sport Club Internacional in 2008. In 2010, he moved to Al-Arabi Sports Club in Qatar.

He then returned to Brazil, signing with Atlético Mineiro in May 2010. In 2013, he played for Criciúma.

After a short break from professional football, Daniel Carvalho joined a Brazilian futsal (indoor football) team called DC Futsal. But he soon returned to outdoor football, signing with Botafogo in 2015.
