Danielle Nicole Herrington (born May 26, 1993) is an American model. She is famous for being in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. In 2018, she was on the cover of the magazine. This made her the third African-American woman to be on the cover. The other two were Tyra Banks (1997) and Beyonce (2007).

Early Life and Education

Danielle Herrington grew up in Compton, California. Later, she moved to Brooklyn, New York. She went to Gahr High School in Cerritos, California.

She left high school in her second year to be homeschooled. This allowed her to focus more on her modeling career. Danielle says her childhood was normal. She focused on school before starting college.

Modeling Career Highlights

Danielle Herrington dreamed of becoming a model when she was 8 years old. Her mother encouraged her to attend a modeling school. She started modeling at age 13.

Early Success

In November 2016, Danielle was featured in GQ magazine. At that time, she was an up-and-coming model. She had already worked for Victoria's Secret.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue

Danielle first appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2017. She got this job just four months after moving to New York City. She was 21 years old when she moved to pursue her modeling dreams. Her first big photoshoot for the magazine took place in Fiji.

In 2018, Danielle was chosen as the cover model for the SI Swimsuit Issue. She was the third Black woman to be on the cover. The photoshoot for the 2018 issue happened in the Bahamas.

Runway Shows

Danielle made her runway debut at New York Fashion Week. This was at Philipp Plein's spring show in September 2017. She walked alongside famous models like Irina Shayk and Adriana Lima. She walked for Plein again in 2018 for their Fall show.
