Danielle "Danni" Nicole Wyatt-Hodge (born on April 22, 1991) is a talented English cricket player. She plays for teams like Sussex, Southern Vipers, and Southern Brave. Danni is also a key player for the England national team.

She is known as an all-rounder in cricket. This means she is good at both batting and bowling. Danni bats right-handed and bowls right-arm off break. She made her first appearance for England in 2010 against India.

Early Cricket Days

Danni Wyatt-Hodge started her cricket journey as a right-handed batter. She often played as an opening batter or in the middle of the batting order. She also bowled off break deliveries.

She played for local teams like Staffordshire Ladies and Meir Heath Women. Danni also played men's club cricket for Whitmore. In 2010, she received a special contract from the MCC. This helped her train daily and improve her cricket skills. In 2014, she was one of the first women to get a central contract from the ECB. This showed how important women's cricket was becoming.

Danni's Cricket Career Highlights

Danni has achieved many great things in her cricket career. She was part of the England team that won the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup. This big tournament was held in England.

In March 2018, Danni scored her second WT20I century. This happened during a tournament in India against the Indian team. She scored an amazing 124 runs. Her score helped England win by chasing a very high target of 199 runs. This was the highest successful chase ever in a Women's T20 International match at that time.

With this century, Danni became only the second female cricketer to score two centuries in WT20Is. Her score of 124 runs was also the second-highest individual score in a WT20I. It was also the highest score by an opening batter in a WT20I. She scored this century very quickly, in just 52 balls.

In October 2018, Danni was selected for England's team for the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 in the West Indies. She also joined the Melbourne Renegades for the 2018–19 Women's Big Bash League season in Australia.

In February 2019, she received another full central contract from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). This showed her continued importance to the team. In June 2019, she was part of the England squad that played against Australia in the Women's Ashes.

In December 2019, Danni scored her first century in a WODI match. This happened against Pakistan in Malaysia. During the same tour, she played her 100th WT20I match. In January 2020, she was named in England's team for the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Australia.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, Danni was part of a group of 24 players chosen to start training again in June 2020. In February 2021, she toured New Zealand with the England team. They won both the WODI and WT20I series. She was also chosen to play for Southern Brave in the first season of The Hundred tournament.

In December 2021, Danni was part of England's team that toured Australia for the Women's Ashes. In February 2022, she was selected for the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. Later in April 2022, she was again picked by the Southern Brave for the 2022 season of The Hundred.

In July 2022, Danni was named in England's team for the cricket tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. In June 2023, she made her Test debut for England against Australia in the 2023 Women's Ashes series.

She was also named in the England squad for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. In October 2024, she moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2025 season of the WPL. She will also play for the professional Surrey Women's team from 2025. Danni was also selected for England's tours to South Africa in November 2024 and the 2024–25 Women's Ashes series in Australia.

About Danni's Life

Danni Wyatt-Hodge has a nickname, "Waggy". She has been a fan of Port Vale F.C. football club since she was eight years old. She used to go to matches with her grandfather.

On June 10, 2024, Danni married Georgie Hodge in London. Georgie is a football agent. They had been together since 2019 and got engaged in early 2023.
