Daniel Richard McBride (born December 29, 1976) is an American actor, comedian, writer, and producer. He is known for his funny roles in movies and TV shows. He has even been nominated for big awards like the Primetime Emmy Award.
Danny McBride has starred in popular TV series like Eastbound & Down, Vice Principals, and The Righteous Gemstones. He helped create these shows too! You might also know his voice from animated movies such as Despicable Me, Kung Fu Panda 2, The Angry Birds Movie, and The Mitchells vs. the Machines.

Early Life and Inspiration
Danny McBride was born in Statesboro, Georgia, on December 29, 1976. He grew up in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. His mom and stepfather worked for the Marine Corps.
Church was a big part of his life when he was a kid. His mother used puppets to tell stories during church sermons. Danny says that watching her inspired his own interest in telling stories. He later went to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
Career Highlights
Danny McBride started his acting career in 2003 in a movie called All the Real Girls. In 2006, he starred in and helped write the comedy film The Foot Fist Way.
He became very well-known for his role as Kenny Powers in the HBO comedy series Eastbound & Down. In this show, he played a funny, washed-up baseball pitcher. The show was so popular that it ran for four seasons.
In 2010, Danny McBride even signed a deal with K-Swiss shoes. He also appeared in a music video for the band Tenacious D. From 2016 to 2017, he co-starred in another HBO comedy series called Vice Principals.
You might have heard his voice in the video game Grand Theft Auto V. He voiced a talk radio host named Duane Earl. In 2017, he acted in the science fiction movie Alien: Covenant. He was very excited to be in it because he was a big fan of the Alien movies.
In 2018, Danny McBride was part of a funny Super Bowl commercial for Tourism Australia. It looked like a trailer for a new Crocodile Dundee movie, but it was just an advertisement!
He has also worked behind the scenes as an executive producer for the recent Halloween movies. These include Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills (2021), and Halloween Ends (2022).
Since 2018, Danny McBride has been the face of Coral, a betting company in the UK. He plays a character called "Sports Rodstein" in their TV ads. In late 2018, HBO ordered his new series, The Righteous Gemstones. This show is about a famous televangelist family with some funny secrets.
In 2021, he voiced Rick Mitchell in the animated movie The Mitchells vs. the Machines.
Personal Life
Danny McBride married Gia Ruiz, an art director, in 2010. They have two children, a son and a daughter. The family lives in Charleston, South Carolina.
