Dariusz Gnatowski (born May 24, 1961 – died October 20, 2020) was a popular Polish actor. He was best known for playing Arnold Boczek in the TV comedy show Świat według Kiepskich. He also appeared in movies like Demons of War and With Fire and Sword.

Early Life and Education
Dariusz Gnatowski was born in Ruda Śląska, Poland, on May 24, 1961. He grew up in Zabrze. He later studied acting in Kraków and graduated in 1985.
Starting His Acting Career
After finishing school, Gnatowski started acting in plays. He performed in a play based on the book Ferdydurke. On December 20, 1986, he made his first big stage appearance in a play called "Madman and the Nun." He worked with the Theater Scena STU in Krakow for many years. He also worked with the Ludowy Theatre in Kraków for some time.
Movies and TV Shows
In 1988, Dariusz Gnatowski first appeared on TV in the series Crimen. In 1994, he made his big screen debut in the movie Miasto prywatne ("Private City"). During the 1990s, he hosted children's TV shows on TVP1. These shows included Włóczykija Guide, which was about travel and history. He also hosted Words, words and half-words, a game show about the Polish language.
He acted in several movies, including Ferdydurke (1991) and Sara (1997). He was also in Demons of War (1998) and With Fire and Sword (1999).
Gnatowski appeared in over twenty TV series. His most famous role was Arnold Boczek in the sitcom Świat według Kiepskich. He played this character from 1999 to 2019. He also had roles in shows like Tatort (1996) and Na dobre i na złe (2003 and 2014).
Health and Awareness Work
Dariusz Gnatowski struggled with obesity from a young age. In 2002, he wrote a book called "Diet without sacrifices" with Michał Mularczyk. The book shared tips for a healthy lifestyle.
In 2009, he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. This condition affected his eyes and feet. In 2013, he started a group called "Get Up Together. Active Rehabilitation." He worked to help prevent and fight diabetes. From 2015 to 2020, he directed and starred in an educational play called "Słodki drań." This play taught people about living with diabetes.
Awards and Recognition
In 2012, he was nominated for an award for his role in the short film Kiedy ranne wstają zorze. He received the Cross of Merit in 2005. In 2016, he was given the Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis and the "Honoris Gratia" Badge.
His Passing
Dariusz Gnatowski passed away on October 20, 2020. He was admitted to a hospital in Kraków, Poland, due to pneumonia. Doctors tried their best, but he developed breathing problems and his heart stopped. He also tested positive for COVID-19. He was 59 years old.
Personal Life
Dariusz Gnatowski married Anna Wach in 1990. They had one daughter named Julia. He lived in Gorzków, near Wieliczka.
