Daronte Jones was born on November 11, 1978. He is an American football coach. Currently, he works for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League (NFL). He helps coordinate the team's defensive passing game. He also coaches the defensive backs.

Playing Football
Jones played football as a cornerback. He played for Temple University in 1996. After that, he moved to Morgan State University. His playing career ended after his second year at Morgan State. This was because of injuries that caused nerve damage.
Coaching Career
Starting Out as a Coach
Jones began his coaching journey as a graduate assistant at Lenoir–Rhyne. Then, he coached safeties at Nicholls State. For two years, he was a defensive coordinator at high schools in Louisiana. From 2005 to 2009, Jones worked at Bowie State University in Maryland. He was the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator there.
In 2010, he coached at UCLA. After that, he spent a year coaching the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL. He then coached for three years at the University of Hawaii. Later, he spent a year coaching at Wisconsin.
Coaching in the NFL
Jones started coaching in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins. He was an assistant defensive backs coach for two seasons. For the next two years, he coached the secondary for the Cincinnati Bengals. In 2020, he became the defensive backs coach for the Minnesota Vikings.
Time at LSU
On January 26, 2021, Jones was named the defensive coordinator at LSU. He worked there for one season. He did not stay with the team for the next year.
Back with the Vikings
On February 23, 2022, Daronte Jones returned to the Minnesota Vikings. He became the team's defensive backs coach for the 2022 season. He continues to coach with the Vikings today.
