Darvin Adams (born January 5, 1990) is an American professional football player. He plays as a wide receiver, catching passes from the quarterback. Darvin is famous for winning the Grey Cup twice with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. This is the championship trophy of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He also won a major college championship, the BCS National Championship, with Auburn University.

Early Life and High School Football
Darvin Adams grew up in Canton, Mississippi. He went to Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Georgia. During his junior year, he scored 15 touchdowns by catching passes. He also scored five touchdowns by running with the ball.
In his senior year, Darvin caught 66 passes for 867 yards. He scored 11 touchdowns that year. He was also a good defensive player, making 106 tackles. His coach, Tommy Tuberville, said Darvin was an "excellent outside receiver." He noted Darvin's height and speed, which are great for a wide receiver.
College Career at Auburn
Darvin Adams played college football for Auburn University. In 2009, he had a fantastic season. He caught 60 passes for almost 1,000 yards (997 yards) and scored 10 touchdowns.
He was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Outback Bowl in 2010. In that game, he caught 12 passes for 142 yards. Auburn won the game 38-35. Later, in the 2010 SEC Championship Game, Darvin set a new record. He gained 217 receiving yards in that championship game. Auburn won the Southeastern Conference title that year. After a great college career, Darvin decided to enter the NFL draft in 2011.
Professional Football Journey
Starting in the NFL
Darvin Adams was not chosen in the NFL draft. However, the Carolina Panthers signed him as a rookie free agent in July 2011. He was later released but spent time on their practice squad. He was then added to the active team roster in November 2011.
Playing in the UFL
In 2012, Darvin played for the Virginia Destroyers. This team was part of the United Football League. He played in four games for them.
Joining the CFL: Toronto Argonauts
In 2013, Darvin moved to the Canadian Football League (CFL). He signed with the Toronto Argonauts. He played for two years with the Argonauts. During this time, he played in 11 games and caught 18 passes. He gained 237 yards and scored one touchdown.
Success with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Darvin Adams became a free agent in 2015. He then signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He quickly became one of their top receivers. In 2015, he caught 61 passes for 839 yards and 6 touchdowns.
He faced an injury in 2016, missing 12 games. But he returned strong in 2017. The Bombers signed him to a new three-year contract. Over the next two seasons, Darvin continued to be a key player. He gained over 1,000 receiving yards in both 2017 and 2018.
In the 2019 season, Darvin helped the Bombers reach the playoffs. He made a huge 71-yard touchdown catch in a playoff game. This helped his team win against the Calgary Stampeders. Later, in another playoff game, he had a 63-yard catch. This play helped the team get to the 107th Grey Cup. The Blue Bombers won the Grey Cup that year. It was their first championship in 29 years!
The 2020 CFL season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But Darvin returned for the 2021 season. He helped the Blue Bombers have the best record in the league. They reached their second straight Grey Cup final. In the 108th Grey Cup, the Bombers were behind for most of the game. But they made an amazing comeback. The game went into overtime. Darvin caught a touchdown pass from Zach Collaros. This play won the game for the Blue Bombers, 33-25. Darvin and the team won their second Grey Cup in a row!
Playing for the Ottawa Redblacks
After his contract ended, Darvin Adams signed with the Ottawa Redblacks in February 2022. In his first season with Ottawa, he played in all 18 regular season games. This was a first for him in his career. He caught 63 passes for 949 yards and scored two touchdowns. His contract with the Redblacks ended in February 2023.
