David Ascalon, born on March 8, 1945, is a talented artist from Israel. He is known for creating amazing sculptures and beautiful stained glass art. He also helped start a company called Ascalon Studios.

About David Ascalon
David Ascalon was born in Tel Aviv, which was then called the British Mandate of Palestine. This area is now Israel. His father, Maurice Ascalon, was also a famous sculptor and designer. David learned a lot about art by working with his father when he was young.
Moving to the United States
When David was a teenager, his family moved to the U.S.. They wanted to explore new opportunities. He went to Beverly Hills High School in California and finished in 1963.
David then studied art and design at different universities. He learned about architecture and interior design too. He earned his degree from Pratt Institute in New York.
Early Career and Artistic Growth
In the 1970s, David worked in interior design and architecture. He worked in New York and also in Tel Aviv, Israel. He wanted to create art in a more direct way. So, he started making sculptures from metal. He used a welding torch to create abstract shapes.
David also cares about artists' rights. He has worked to protect the rights of artists. His son, Brad Ascalon, is also a designer. David's older brother, Adir Ascalon, was a surrealist painter. Adir even worked with a famous Mexican artist named David Alfaro Siqueiros. David Ascalon is also a licensed private pilot, which means he can fly airplanes!
Today, David Ascalon lives in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He also spends time in the Hamptons in New York.
Ascalon Studios
In 1977, David Ascalon moved to the Philadelphia area. There, he teamed up with his father to create Ascalon Studios. This studio focuses on making special artwork for public places and places of worship.
Creating Unique Artworks
Much of their art is inspired by religious themes. However, they use modern styles and new ideas. Over the years, Ascalon Studios has completed hundreds of projects. These projects are all over North America. They include large sculptures, colorful stained glass windows, and mosaic murals.
Many of David's artworks can be found in synagogues and other religious buildings. He has also created several Holocaust Memorials. These memorials honor the victims of the Holocaust, including some of his own family members.
Awards and Recognitions
David Ascalon has received many important awards for his designs. One award came from the American Institute of Architects. He is also a member of the International Sculpture Center. He used to be the president of the American Guild of Judaic Art. He has given talks about Judaic art.
