David Barrett (born December 22, 1977) is a former American football player. He was a talented cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons. He was chosen by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2000 NFL draft. Before playing professionally, he played college football at the University of Arkansas. He also went to Osceola High School, where he was a great football player.
Barrett also played for the New York Jets during his NFL career.

College Football Career
David Barrett played college football for the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was a very active player on the field. During his time in college, he made 176 tackles. Playing for the Arizona Cardinals
David Barrett was picked by the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2000 NFL draft. He was the 102nd player chosen overall. He played for the Cardinals from 2000 until 2003.
Playing for the New York Jets
In 2004, David Barrett joined the New York Jets. He quickly became a starting cornerback for the team. In 2005, he had a great season, catching five interceptions. He played for the Jets until 2008. On February 10, 2009, he was released by the Jets.
Personal Life
David Barrett appeared on the TV show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in 2006. He helped build a new home for the Llanes family. He was joined by his teammate Adrian Jones for this special project. His wife, Sheila, works as a curator. A curator helps take care of a museum's collections. She works at the Jefferson Davis museum in Waterloo.
